Brandi Nunnery

Brandi Nunnery is currently a Literacy Teacher Development Specialist (LTDS) in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools system. She holds a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction (Emphasis: English as a Second Language) and an Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision. As a classroom teacher, Brandi taught first grade and ESL in grades 1-5. Instructionally, Brandi demonstrated consistent excellence, especially in the areas of Balanced Literacy and Writer’s Workshop. In 2004, due to her consistent implementation of best instructional practices and her contributions to her PLCs throughout the building, Smyrna Elementary (Smyrna, TN) honored Brandi by recognizing her as Teacher of the Year.

In addition to her classroom experience, Brandi, has served with distinction as a Reading Specialist, Literacy Coach, and District Lead Literacy Coach. In her role as a District Lead Literacy Coach, she designed and delivered training for her fellow site-based coaches in Nashville. Additional leadership experiences include serving as a Project Based Learning Capacity Builder for Metro Nashville schools, supervising practicum students in the graduate reading program from Vanderbilt University, and mentoring new instructional coaches.
